CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP — Davenport University was granted final approval of plans for a third residence hall on campus at the Aug. 6 Caledonia Township Board meeting. The hall, part of the original master plan for the university, will be located across from the university’s two residence halls on the campus, at 6191 Kraft Ave.
“Demand is continuing to grow for our on-campus housing,” said President Randolph K. Flechsig in a news release. “We will start construction as soon as possible so that we can house additional students at the start of the 2009 academic year.” The 120,765-square-foot hall would house 300 students and a cafeteria.
The campus opened with one residence hall, and a second was completed ahead of schedule in 2006 to meet demand.
