MichBio To Publish Bi-Annual Magazine
MichBio, the association for Michigan’s biosciences industry, announced today it will publish a bi-annual magazine to track the discoveries, trends, issues and personalities shaping and growing the state’s biosciences community.
BioMatters will be a “glossy, professionally written” publication, according to MichBio. The first edition will be issued Nov. 5 before the kick-off of the 2008 MichBio Expo and Conference Nov. 18 and 19 in Novi. The publication will be distributed by mail to more than 5,000 Michigan biosciences companies and service providers, state and regional funding sources, economic development organizations, universities and research institutions. Stories will cover, among other things, the wide array of clinical research that’s being done in Michigan, growth in the state’s contract research sector and ways companies are finding and attracting funding within the state.
“An important part of MichBio’s mission is to support our members and the industry as a whole by disseminating materials that inform, educate and assist those with a stake in Michigan’s biosciences industry, as well as the general public,” said Stephen Rapundalo, Ph.D., MichBio’s executive director.
The second edition of BioMatters will be published in May 2009 and will include a Michigan Biosciences Directory and Resource Guide. HQ
