Local entries get 32 district Addy Awards

Advertising professionals and students from West Michigan claimed 32 gold and silver awards at the district level in the American Advertising Federation’s 2009 Addy Awards contest.

Their work was among 460 entries that won at the club level earlier this year in 18 AAF-affiliated advertising clubs in District Six, including entries from Chicago and Detroit.

AAF-West Michigan students snagged 13 awards and the pros snagged 19. Eight of them were Gold Awards and 24 were Silver.

The entries declared winners in the AAF’s 14 districts now move on to the national competition. National Addy Awards will be presented June 6 during the AAF’s National Conference in Arlington, Va. The AAF has 210 local clubs.

West Michigan entries that won awards in District Six include:

Silver Awards, Professional: Auxiliary Advertising & Design, Howard Miller Proof, for Howard Miller; Creative Stoodio LLC, for its own Web site; Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, for the Jaume Plensa Exhibition catalog; Gorilla Pictures, for its own demo; Gravity Six Alliance, Ad Fair poster, for the Ad Club of West Michigan; Gravity Six Alliance, for the Ad Fair People’s Choice Award; Gravity Six Alliance, for Ad Fair Outdoor; Grey Matter Group, Highpoint Flats Web site, for Parkland Properties; Grey Matter Group, for NLT Audio Bible Ad, for Tyndale; Highland Group, three Silver Awards for Steelcase Green Giants; Hunsberger-Stap, Details Showroom NeoCon 2008, for Details, a Steelcase company; Kantorwassink, for Ronaldinho campaign, for Nutrilite; and Palazzolo Design for Palazzolo “Point of View.”
