The women’s business group Inforum is sponsoring a group for its mid-level and senior executive members who are looking for new jobs, thanks to the recession.

Vicky H. Black, who is coordinating the program, said she and Inforum leader Judy Welch realized early this year that the economy was exacting a toll on some members of the group.

“We thought there could be some camaraderie, support and learning we could all do together,” said Black.

Women on the Move includes women with experience in marketing, human resources, communications, customer service, sales, writing, public relations and financial operations with profit and loss responsibility. The group started meeting with eight members in April and now has 30, she said. Five members have found new jobs.

The group meets every other Wednesday in a support group setting. Every Monday, they get together for programs, some led by other Inforum members.

The group also maintains a presence on LinkedIn, she added.

Women on the Move meets at 8 a.m. Mondays and every other Wednesday, and Black suggested visiting for more information. She also suggested visiting a meeting to see if it is a good fit prior to paying the Inforum membership fee. The fees start at $75 and provide perks in addition to membership to Women on the Move and its LinkedIn group.
