For those who aren't IT savvy, there’s a new book out that claims to come to just about anyone’s technological rescue.

Eric Ringelberg’s recently released book — “Making Technology Work For YOU!” — was written to give readers a down-to-earth education in IT or information technology. Ringelberg is the founder and CEO of Muskegon-based NeXt I.T., an IT and web design company that services small to medium-sized businesses in West Michigan and parts of Indiana.

Ringelberg's book deals with issues such as overpayment for IT services and questions to ask IT consultants before putting the CEO’s signature on contracts. The book also contains information about the pros and cons of different types of technical support available, cloud computing and how to tell whether the wrong IT support has been hired.

He said the book was written to help educate decision makers about the best possible IT choices.

“We so often found that by the time it took to explain the dos and don’ts to customers, they’d already made the choices,” he said. “We thought we could put together a book, so they can be informed before they make decisions.”

Ringelberg has won numerous awards, including the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Muskegon Area Chamber of Commerce and 2012 honoree for Corp! magazine’s Entrepreneurs of Distinction.

He said a book about web production is in the works and will be available soon.

The IT book can be purchased online or by contacting NeXt I.T.
