Change Ups: Harney tapped for political leadership program
Patricia Harney, Hospice of Michigan’s legislative affairs manager, has been selected for the Michigan Political Leadership program. Sponsored by Michigan State University and administered by its Institute for Public Policy and Social Research, the 10-month weekend program recruits, trains and inspires future public policy leaders. Harney will be one of 24 individuals from around the state who will engage in the curriculum, which incorporates practical politics, public policy analysis, personal leadership development and effective governance.

Grand Rapids Art Museum announced Kerri VanderHoff has been named GRAMGoSite project director. VanderHoff will serve as marketing and public relations director, helping to define the new facility’s identity in the heart of the city and implement a more prominent and collaborative role in the community.

J.P. Morgan announced Reuben Rashty has been appointed head of J.P. Morgan’s private banking business in Michigan. Rashty will lead the team in delivering the firm’s investment, wealth advisory, deposit, credit and philanthropic services to high and ultra-high net worth clients via offices in Bloomfield Hills, Ann Arbor, Grosse Point and Grand Rapids.

Jon F. Rice, director of the Kent County Road Commission, will retire effective April 26. Rice joined the KCRC as managing director in 1994, directing the operations of the second-largest county road system in Michigan.

Spartan Stores announced the promotion of Jerry Jones to senior vice president, human resources. Jones served as vice president, human resources, since June 1, 2009, and is responsible for administering the policies and practices for 8,700 employees throughout Michigan.
