Founders messes with Texas
Founders Brewing Co. has decided to mess with Texas.
The brewery announced Tuesday that it will begin distribution into the Lone Star State in April through Ben E. Keith Beverage Distributors.
“Texas is an up-and-coming market, and we’re impressed with what we’re seeing there,” said Founders Co-Founder and CEO Mike Stevens. “We’ve been getting more and more inquiries from Founders fans in Texas over the past couple of years.
“The Ben E. Keith team is dedicated to the craft beer market and is helping introduce complex brands like ours to eager consumers who are hungry for them," he said. "Besides, we’ve always wanted to get Founders beer to Willie Nelson’s home state. Now, the time is right.”
Founders will ship all year-round and seasonal beers to Texas and specialty beers will follow the release schedule, following May.
Ben E. Keith has distributed in Texas since 1906 and is now the third-largest distributor in the nation.
“We are delighted to partner with Founders,” said Ben E. Keith Specialty Division Manager Kevin Nettleton, “and are eager to distribute their esteemed beers in Texas.”
The addition of Texas comes shortly after Founders announced its entry into the Ontario, Canada, market.
