During a live video chat Friday at, Bistro Bella Vita General Manager Brad Teachout discussed the restaurant's approach to its farm-to-table menu, customers, downtown competition and the Van Andel Arena.

The chat mostly focused on how Bistro Bella Vita has grown into one of Grand Rapids’ most notable restaurants by staying true to its personality, despite always adjusting to new times.

Teachout discussed farm-to-table dining, which Bistro has helped pioneer for the past 15 years, the impact the new Downtown Market will have on Grand Rapids and Van Andel Arena’s events, including Saturday’s Grand Valley State University graduation, which will bring a large crowd of students and their families next door.

Teachout also shared some spring drink and menu recommendations.
