Davenport University names Walter O'Neill EVP of enrollment and student services
Walter O’Neill will be the new executive vice president for enrollment and student services at Davenport University.
O’Neill, currently the senior associate vice president for enrollment management at Roosevelt University in Chicago, will be replacing Larry Polselli, who earlier announced his plans to retire.
O’Neill begins his work at Davenport on June 17.
“We are excited to bring someone of Dr. O’Neill’s caliber onto the Davenport team,” said Richard Pappas, president of Davenport. “His ability to forge partnerships leading to recruitment and retention success made him an attractive candidate. We continue to build on Davenport’s culture of quality and believe Dr. O’Neill will contribute greatly to achievement of the university’s vision and mission.”
O’Neill has more than two decades of higher education experience, having worked in the areas of team leadership, strategic planning and operations.
He worked in financial aid departments for Chicago State University, State University of New York College at Old Westbury, Teachers College/Columbia University and SUNY Binghamton University.
He has a bachelor’s degree in business and human services from SUNY/University, a master’s degree in training and development and a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Roosevelt University.
