New Holland Brewing beer garden opens in time for Hatter Days
New Holland Brewing Co.’s new beer garden will have a coming-out party this weekend.
The new 5,000 sqaure-foot beer garden and patio will be at the heart of the brewery’s anniversary party this weekend.
Hatter Days takes place June 7 and 8 and includes live music, food specials, Daredevil circus and beer and spirits demos.
The brewery's $1-million expansion was completed in late May by Holland-based Elzinga & Volkers Construction Professionals after 12 weeks of work.
The expansion includes seating for more than 100 more guests, a renovated kitchen and renovated bar area.
“Having the project team within blocks of the site was critical to completing this unique project in such a short time period,” said John Parker, Project Manager and Vice President of Project Development at Elzinga & Volkers Construction Professionals. “Our craftsmen fabricated the steel that makes up the custom canopy with a pre-oxidized finish that is meant to look aged.”
The concrete and metal panel along the fence were designed by local artist Rick Weese.
Whiskey-barrel slats used in the making of New Holland’s Dragon’s Milk were used as wainscoting in the rear entry to the pub.
“Any time you can count on local businesses and the community to bring their collective minds together, great things happen,” said Dave White, Vice President of Retail Operations at New Holland Brewing Company. “We couldn’t be happier with this unique public space for people to enjoy good beer, spirits and food with their friends and family. We’re about creating experiences, and we think this renovation will give people a place to enjoy their lives.”
