A 10-day concert series at Rosa Parks Circle kicks off tonight.

The 2013 Art Van Concert Series, which is co-sponsored by WOOD TV 8, will run today through Oct. 4.

The free weeknight performances will take place between 5–7 p.m.

Twenty-one local bands will perform.

Each band will also be featured during 24 Hour News 8’s evening broadcasts, between 5-7 p.m.

The concert series includes several weeknight highlights: Tuesdays, house band and singer songwriters; Wednesdays, jazz performances and Thursdays, family friendly, and special performances until 8 p.m. during the live broadcast of “Maranda: Where You Live.”

The concert series also features musical acts that are part of St. Cecilia Music Center’s ArtPrize Musician Showcase, including Thirsty Perch Blues Band, Troll for Trout, Simien the Whale and more.

It all leads up to the live televised ArtPrize Finale Watch Party at Rosa Parks Circle on Oct. 4.

The finale will feature a concert from the local band Domestic Problems from 5-8 p.m., followed by the live ArtPrize Finale broadcast, where the winner of ArtPrize 2013 will be named.
