Whirlpool’s brands of home appliances are now available nationwide to customers of the largest privately held homebuilder in America.

Benton Harbor-based Whirlpool, the nation's largest manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, said this month that it has signed a new supplier agreement with Houston-based David Weekley Homes.

David Weekley Homes customers can now outfit their kitchens and laundry rooms with brands such as Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid and Jenn-Air.

David Weekley Homes builds first time, move up and luxury homes in 17 cities across the Southeast, Southwest and Midwest.

"This agreement is a great cultural and business fit, and we're looking forward to the growth that comes from working with David Weekley Homes as the homebuilding recovery continues to gain ground," said Bob Bergeth, general manager, Whirlpool builder sales.

David Weekley Homes ranks as the 17th-largest homebuilder in the U.S., with nearly 2,500 homes in 2012, according to BUILDER magazine.
