A health system is the primary tenant for a 70,000-square-foot building being built at a 27-acre development in the area.

Katherine Halloran, a spokesperson for Mercy Health, said the new Mercy Health Rockford Campus in Plainfield Township is part of Mercy Health's efforts to increase seamless access to patients in West Michigan.

The development is at Northland Drive and Seven Mile Road.

The campus

Upon completion, the center will house a number of physicians groups and services: Mercy Health Physician Partners’ primary and specialty care physicians; a ten-bed urgent care; laboratory services; radiology services that include X-ray, mammography and ultrasound; physical therapy by Advent Rehab and Grand Rapids Ophthalmology.

In addition to clinical spaces, the building will feature hospitality areas and a café.

Natural light, energy efficient heating and cooling systems and a water-saving system will be incorporated as part of Mercy Health’s investment in sustainability.

The location will replace the temporary Mercy Health Partners clinic in Rockford, at 6050 Northland Dr. NE.

Highpoint Real Estate and Development, Grad Rapids-based Integrated Architecture and Grand Rapids-based Rockford Construction are all collaborating with Mercy Health on the facility.

Mercy Health

Mercy Health serves West Michigan and the lakeshore with five hospital campuses, 58 physician offices, more than 1,300 medical staff physicians and more than 800 hospital beds, as well as hospice, home health and long-term care services.

The system includes Mercy Health Saint Mary's, a Magnet-recognized hospital.

Mercy Health is a regional health ministry of Livonia-based CHE Trinity Health, one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation, operating in 21 states.
