A construction management firm is officially expanding into a region that it’s served for the past several years.

The CSM Group, which has offices in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, is opening a third office in the Mastercraft Building in downtown Omaha, Neb.

“As we have had a staff presence in the area for almost four years, this feels like a natural fit,” said CSM Group president Todd McDonald.

McDonald indicated that Omaha is home to a growing number of startup and creative companies, and he added that the CSM Group serves two of North America’s largest food companies there.

Although he didn’t name the companies, Congra Foods, Kellogg Co., Kraft Foods and Tyson Foods have presences in the city.

But he did say the firm will focus its Omaha efforts on two markets.

“We have used our 30-year history of construction management in the 24/7 health care environment to make a difference in how projects are planned and managed,” McDonald said. “We look forward to growing our presence with our current clients, as well as new opportunities in the food and beverage and health care markets.”

CSM Group Vice President, and 13-year veteran with the firm, Josh Rohs will direct daily operations at the Omaha office.

“We hope to bring a new approach to the construction industry, and we feel that Omaha is a great market to bring our unique construction management approach,” Rohs said.

The CSM Group got its start in 1983 as Bronson Builders and Design. The company became the CSM Group five years later.

The firm provides management, pre-construction and design-build services in the food and beverage, health care, commercial, industrial and education fields.
