New names are being added to the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s leadership.

Board chair

Bobby Moser, who has been a trustee of the Battle Creek-based foundation since 2007, will now be taking over a two-year term as foundation board chair, in the place of Roderick Gillum, whose term expired. Moser was also, once again, re-elected as a trustee for another three-year term.

Moser previously served as vice president for agricultural administration and as dean of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University.

He was also the associate dean of Agriculture, as well as program director of the Agriculture Extension for the University of Missouri.

Donald Williamson, who has been serving as the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s director of financial services, has been named vice president of finance and treasurer, as well as a foundation officer.

Williamson previously served as vice president of finance and operations at the Beaumont Foundation.

He received a BBA in accounting from the University of Michigan and an MBA in finance from Wayne State University.

"Don is an engaged and accomplished leader, bringing both technical and philanthropic experience to this position," said La June Montgomery Tabron, the foundation’s president and CEO. "His commitment to the foundation's values and to the stewardship of the legacy of our founder Will Keith Kellogg is noteworthy, as well as his responsibility, prudence and sound judgment. I look forward to Don's contributions that will help us champion community-led solutions for children, so that they can all reach their full potential."

There are now 10 trustees on the foundation’s board, after Ramón Murguía was re-elected to a three-year term and after Wenda Weekes Moore finished up her time on the board after 26 years of service.

Tabron said the foundation is extremely grateful for Moore’s service.

“Wenda believes in and lives Mr. Kellogg's values every day,” Tabron said. “Few have been more adept at making sure that his values are reflected in the foundation's grant making today. She is a wonderful example to us all of the servant leader, and she is a great booster of philanthropy, helping others give of their time, talents and treasure to the collective good."

Officers and committees

The W.K. Kellogg Foundation said a number of people, including Tabron, were re-elected foundation officers: Gail C. Christopher, vice president, program strategy; Kathryn A. Krecke, general counsel and corporate secretary; Joanne K. Krell, vice president for communications; James E. McHale, vice president, program strategy; Linh Nguyen, vice president of learning and impact; Carla D. Thompson, vice president, program strategy and Joel Wittenberg, vice president and chief investment officer.

The foundation also appointed people to the various board committees: Clark, chair, Gillum, Keller, Liu, Tabron, ex-officio, and Moser ex-officio. The development committee: Murguía, chair, Keller, Stewart, Tsoumas, Tabron, ex-officio, and Moser, ex-officio. The budget committee: Tsoumas, chair, Gillum, Milligan, Murguía, Tabron, ex-officio, and Moser, ex-officio. The finance committee: Liu, chair, Clark, Milligan, Stewart, Tabron, ex-officio, and Moser, ex-officio.
