Restaurant Week hits lakeshore

A week-long celebration of cuisine is coming to the lakeshore.
Grand Haven is hosting its second annual Restaurant Week, which runs today through March 1.
More than 18 restaurants and cafés will take part in the week, which is hosted in downtown Grand Haven.
A number of businesses are new to the event this year: Dee-Lite, Consider It Done/Desserts by Design, Jelly’s, Morning Star Café, The Kirby House, Porto Bello, Lemon Creek Winery and Blueberry Haven.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for visitors as well as local residents to try restaurants they may not have tried before,” said Diane Larkin, executive director of the Grand Haven Main Street Downtown Development Authority.
Larkin went on to say the hope is to bring in people from area, as well as Grand Rapids and Lansing.
Dining deals
Each restaurant created a special menu for the week, which offers lunch options for $8 and dinners for $15.
Some businesses will offer additional discounts, such as two for $8 and two for $15 menu options.
Local businesses also made donations for a giveaway contest, which gives people who dine at restaurants a chance to win prizes.
