Ad industry wins gold at regional ADDYs

Advertising industry professionals brought home three gold awards from the regional ADDYs this month.

They also took home four silver ADDY awards during the annual competition by the American Advertising Federation’s District 6.

Students, all from Kendall College of Art and Design, also brought home three gold awards and one silver.

The district represents 13 local professional advertising clubs in Michigan, Indiana and Illinois, consisting of more than 2,500 members.

The regional competition included 323 entries: 269 by professionals and 54 by students. There were a total of 102 awards presented.

“These gold and silver ADDYs represent the best of the best in West Michigan advertising,” said Nick Katsarelas, president of the West Michigan Chapter of the American Advertising Federation. “The quality and creative excellence of the winning work rivaled that of any past ADDYs.”

Katsarelas said that the winners are the latest example that Grand Rapids is “a growing mecca for great advertising professionals.”
