Thousands in prize money and plenty of barbeque samples are up for grabs at RibStock this Saturday.

The backyard barbeque event will feature two competitions at the Berlin Raceway in Marne.

The Heavy Hitters compeition will feature more than 15 pro-level grillers competing for a $20,000 prize purse.

The Backyard Masters competition challenges “average Joes” to prove they’re the best. The winner of the amateur competition will receive a $900 pellet grill.

People can head to the event’s “backyard” party for samples of ribs, pork and brisket.

RibStock will also feature a motorcycle rally and stunt show, inflatable entertainment, a rock-climbing wall and bands, including Mega 80’s.

The event runs from 1-9 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and include 10 food tickets. Children under 11-17 will need $8 tickets, children 8-11 are $5 and children under 7 receive free admission.

Bike rally

Prior to the event, a bike rally will head from the VillageMotorsports parking lot to Berlin Raceway at 11 a.m., benefiting the March of Dimes’ Bikers for Babies.

Registration for the rally is 9-10:45 a.m. at VillageMotorsports.

The cost for the ride is $30 and includes the rally, a RibStock T-shirt, free VIP parking at RibStock, an entrance ticket and the 10 samples.

The Bikers for Babies event will take place on Saturday at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin. In the past 13 years, Bikers for Babies has raised more than $400,000 in Michigan for March of Dimes. The event includes a vendor lane, silent auction, raffle tickets and drag racing.
