Brewery stages folk rocker
A singer-songwriter who recorded her first album at 15 is taking the stage at a downtown brewery this weekend.
Jessica Lea Mayfield will hit the taproom stage at Founders Brewing Co. on Sunday night.
The show starts at 9 p.m. and is a free event.
Mayfield, 25, is touring in support of her new album, “Make My Head Sing.”
She recorded her first album from her brother’s bedroom and printed 100 copies, before being discovered by The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. Auerbach then produced her debut full-length album, “With Blasphemy So Heatfelt,” which went on to critical and commercial success.
Mayfield, a Kent, Ohio native, has toured extensively as a headliner and opened for artists such as The Black Keys, The Avett Brothers, Cake, Band of Horses, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne and Jay Farrar.
The song below, "I Wanna Love You," is from Mayfield's latest album.
