An IT company is expanding its presence outside of Michigan via an acquisition.

New markets

Data Strategy in Grand Rapids said this week that it has acquired Network Storage in Indianapolis, an IT services provider that specializes in information management, security, storage and virtualization.

Data Strategy — which also has offices in Detroit and Indianapolis, and Network Storage, which has another office in Louisville, Ky. and a representative in Cincinnati —  now has a combined workforce of about 100 full-time employees.

Data Strategy plans to extend its portfolio of products into all of Network Storage’s markets.

Data Strategy's Grand Rapids office will serve as the company’s headquarters.

Network Storage’s former Indianapolis office will serve as Data Strategy’s regional hub.

Data Strategy plans to keep all Nework Storage's employees, as well add more positions to the combined company.

“As we continue to solidify our position as a growing player in the Midwest, we expect to add 10 to 15 jobs in the next 12 months and expect to make sizeable capital investments in our local organizations,” said Dana Jacks, EVP, Data Strategy.

Data Strategy is expecting a smooth transition after the deal.

“Data Strategy was an ideal partner for us,” said Mark Graham, co-principal, Network Storage. “We’ll now be able to go to our current or potential customers and provide more solutions and capabilities. This is a positive move for customers and the market.”
