The litigation team at a local law firm is made up of some of the “most-feared" attorneys in the nation.

The ranking

BTI Consulting in Wellesley, Mass. has named Warner Norcross & Judd in Grand Rapaids to the 40-firm honor roll in its ranking of “The Most-Feared Firms in Litigation” as part of its 2015 "BTI Litigation Outlook."

The honor roll also features the national firm Dykema, which has a Grand Rapids office.

BTI conducts an annual study of litigation firms, which is based on 300 interviews with the general and in-house litigation counsel of companies in industries from banking and construction to transportation and utilities.

BTI also completed an analysis of client spending, goals, priorities and needs to analyze more than 160 law firms.

Litigation team

Edward Bardelli, partner and litigation practice group chair at Warner Norcross, said the firm is “incredibly pleased to be recognized” for its litigation practice.

“There’s truly no litigation problem that we haven’t handled,” Bardelli said.

Warner Norcross has more than 70 attorneys and eight paralegals in its litigation department. The firm handles all types of litigation, but counts patent and intellectual property, trade secrets, class action, employment and utilities among its strongest areas.

Eleven of the firm’s attorneys have also been included in Best Lawyers' “Bet-the-Company” category, and the firm has five attorneys who have been inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Client base

Warner Norcross serves as litigation counsel for several companies based in Michigan or with a strong presence in the state: Whirlpool, Amway, Consumers Energy, Daewoo International, Dow Chemical, Fifth Third Bank, Robert Bosch and others.
