Families have rated a trio of senior living communities in the region among the best in the country.

Lincoln Square in Grand Rapids and Aurora Pond in Wyoming, part of Holiday Retirement, and Sanctuary at the Shore in Grand Haven, part of Trinitiy Senior Living Communities, have won the Best of 2015 Award by, a website where people rate and review senior care communities and providers in the U.S. and Canada.

The website, which features more than 64,000 reviews, named the winners of the annual award last week.

The award is given to communities and providers that have “consistently received outstanding feedback from families” at

Winners must have an average overall rating of at least 4.5 out of 5 stars and a minimum number of reviews.

The winners represent various types of senior care communities and providers: assisted living, Alzheimer’s care, independent living, low-income senior housing, skilled nursing and in-home care.
