IT firm expands into Chicago market
A growing IT firm is expanding farther across the Midwest.
Open Systems Technologies in Grand Rapids, or OST, a $120-million IT firm, said today that it has secured an office outside of downtown Chicago in the community of Oakbrook Terrace.
The 2,000-square-foot space is in the Northern Trust Bank Building, at 1 Oakbrook Terrace.
OST is housing two employees at its new space and plans to add about eight more employees to the office in the next six months.
OST has about 180 employees spread across offices in Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Minneapolis and London.
OST wanted to open an office in the Oakbrook area, because of its centralized location in the Chicago market, said Meredith Bronk, president, OST.
She added that it’s close to downtown Chicago and Chicago O'Hare International Airport, as well as major freeways and within a 30-minute commute of “many great neighborhoods.”
“OST is already supporting managed services, data center and application development accounts in Chicago, and we hope that our physical presence in Chicago will allow us to establish several new accounts over the next few years,” said Bronk, a recent nominee for the Business Journal’s Newsmaker of the Year award in the technology category.
“We believe that we will be successful in attracting top talent by extending the OST culture into this community, similar to what we have done in Minneapolis and Detroit."
