Company wins Diamond Supplier Award from truck and bus maker
Out of more than 1,200 international suppliers to a global truck and bus maker, one company is part of a small group that stands out to the manufacturer.
CK Technologies, or CKT, a business unit of Grand Rapids-based Cascade Engineering, said last week that it is one of 26 top-performing companies to receive Navistar’s 2014 Diamond Supplier Award.
The winning companies were selected based on exceeding quality, delivery, technology and cost expectations.
Navistar SVP Phil Christman said the suppliers have "set the bar for that level of performance.”
The Diamond Supplier Award recognizes suppliers from around the world, from freight and engineering services to plastics, electronics, seats and castings.
The group represents several types of businesses: women- and minority-owned businesses; small and large companies from the Midwest and other areas of the U.S.; and global suppliers from Mexico, Taiwan, China and Canada.
"CKT and Navistar share the same vision of collectively improving performance in the commercial truck and bus market, and we are driven to find new ways to benefit both the customer and environment,” said Christina Keller, president, CKT. "We are honored to be selected as Navistar’s Diamond Supplier and look forward to continuing our partnership for years ahead.”
CKT, started in 2002, specializes in producing large parts using plastic injection molding instead of traditional manufacturing processes, “thereby reducing weight and improving structural integrity, quality and environmental impact.”
CKT makes a range of products: chrome bumper systems and grille assemblies; painted chassis fairings; roof deflectors and fender extensions; engine compartment components; interior trim and more.
Lisle, Ill.-based Navistar is a holding company of subsidiaries and affiliates that make International brand commercial and military trucks and IC Bus brand school and commercial buses.
