Music center produces Eat. Drink. Be Merry!

Legislator uncorks bill allowing BYOB wine

More than 100 wines from around the world will be available for tasting at a downtown benefit for a music organization.

With the help of Martha’s Vineyard in Grand Rapids, the nonprofit St. Cecillia Music Center in Grand Rapids will host its Eat. Drink. Be Merry! wine tasting and auction on May 1.


Wines with varying price points will be featured.

Some of the wines will be available through special order only at the event.

The event will showcase several wine brands: Conn Valley Vineyards Rubicon Cask; Ferrari Carano; Neil Ellis, Stag’s Leap Cellars; Forman; E. Guigal Chalone; Shafer; D’Arenberg; Honig; Sebastiani; Castello D’ Monastero; Pio Cesare; Nicolas Catena; Fisher; Girard; Frank Family; Regusci and more.

Silent auction

Guests will also take part in a silent auction, which will feature dining, entertainment, vacation and wine packages.

Included the packages are a New Orleans jazz and dinner trip, a Napa wine-tasting experience, tickets to a Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga concert in New York and a Bourbon trail tour in Kentucky.

Autographed instruments and albums from artists such as Bruce Springsteen and BB King will be up for bidding.

Local entertainment packages will also be available.


Hors d’oeuvres from Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Baking Company will be on hand.

Charlie Royce jazz combo will provide music.


The evening of entertainment and wine tasting is $35.

Auction bidding begins on April 24.
