A former Apple vice president with years of experience in Asia is the new chief financial officer at Amway.

Ada-based Amway said yesterday that Mark Stevens has been appointed to the CFO position.

Stevens will be responsible for leading Amway’s worldwide financial functions, including accounting, financial planning and reporting, forecasting, insurance, internal audit, treasury and tax.

Stevens replaces Mike Cazer, who was appointed chief operating officer in 2014.

Stevens’ career

Stevens previously served as VP of worldwide sales finance for Apple.

His team managed a $153-billion portfolio, representing 90 percent of the company’s revenues outside of Apple stores.

Stevens has spent much of his career working for technology companies, including both Motorola and Dell.

Experience in Asia

While working at Motorola, he served as the finance lead on the team establishing the company’s first sales representation in the Asia Pacific region.

While at Dell, he served as VP of finance for the Asia Pacific region.

In total, Stevens has spent 21 years of his career living in Asia, including Singapore, China, Malaysia and Japan, but he has roots in West Michigan.

He graduated from Hope College in Holland, before going on to earn an M.B.A. from DePaul University.

He is a Certified Public Accountant.
