Report ranks wireless carriers in Grand Rapids

An independent organization recently evaluated and ranked the performance of wireless carriers in the Grand Rapids market.

RootMetrics, which tests mobile network performance, has released its RootScore findings for the first half of 2015.

From April 28-May 2, RootMetrics drove about 786 miles, visited 24 indoor locations and made a total of 18,945 tests to complete its report on the market.

The results

The report ranks Verizon as the top overall carrier, with AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile each ranking second, according to charts in the report. It’s the second consecutive time Verizon ranks first overall in the market.

Verizon and AT&T rank first for network reliability.

T-Mobile and Verizon rank first for network speed.

T-Mobile and Verizon rank first for data performance.

AT&T, Verizon and Sprint rank first for call performance.

Sprint ranks first for text performance.
