Prosecutors charge deputy with drunken driving
Prosecutors have charged a sheriff's deputy in the region with drunken driving and attempted resisting and obstructing police.
The Calhoun County deputy was also reportedly charged Tuesday with failing to stop at a crash scene and possessing a firearm while under the influence.
Police in Kalamazoo say the deputy crashed her vehicle into a parked car late Saturday night. She was later held in the Kalamazoo County Jail.
Her name was not released. She was not in police custody Tuesday.
Calhoun County Sheriff Matt Saxton has said the deputy is on administrative leave pending the results of criminal and internal investigations.
