Bar's fries rank among '10 best french fries' in US
Some of the best french fries in the nation can be found in Grand Rapids, and the bar that makes them will offer them for free, with any purchase.
Food Network Magazine has named HopCat’s Crack Fries to its ranking of “America’s 10 Best French Fries,” so the bar chain said it will celebrate next Wednesday.
“Our guests have made Crack Fries our best-selling item since we opened the first HopCat in 2008,” said Mark Sellers, founder, HopCat. “We thought this would be a great opportunity to thank our guests and invite those who haven’t tried them in for a free order.”
All five of HopCat locations will offer the dine-in-only Crack Fries deal on July 1, with one per customer from 11 a.m.-midnight.
The locations include the original Grand Rapids location, as well as East Lansing, Ann Arbor, Detroit and Indianapolis.
HopCat also announced that full orders of Crack Fries will come with its cheese dipping sauce at no charge. The addition will not affect the price of Crack Fries, which will remain $4.50.
HopCat opened in 2008 and has since garnered international accolades from publications such as BeerAdvocate, Craftbeer.com, Draft Magazine and RateBeer.com.
Two more HopCat locations are expected to open this year, including Lexington, Ky. this fall and Madison, Wis. on July 11.
