ArtPrize awards curator grants
A major art event has selected its recipients for $40,000 in grants.
ArtPrize recently announced the four emerging curators for its fellowship program. The four recipients will work with curators at established ArtPrize institutional venues during this year’s event.
The four winners will help to create the venue exhibitions for ArtPrize Seven and also curate their own exhibit with the help of their mentors. The $40,000 grant will be divided equally among the four recipients to help with the planning and execution of the exhibitions.
Kendall College of Art and Design graduate Hunter Bridwell will work with Ron Platt, curator at Grand Rapids Art Museum.
Amy Wilson will work with SiTE:LAB curator Paul Amenta. Wilson is the artistic director and founder of Dance in the Annex, which won the 2014 Time-Based juried award.
Ethan Ross, who has an MFA from Kendall, will work with Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts curator Heather Duffy.
Last year’s Cathedral Square curator, Elizabeth Hertl, will work with KCAD curator Michele Bozak.
