Chicken fast-food chain orders next location
A chicken fast-food chain that specializes in a New Orleans-style menu is planning its next local location.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen purchased a nearly one-acre lot for a new restaurant in Walker, at 2150 Alpine Ave. NW, NAI Wisinski of West Michigan said yesterday.
The deal was brokered by Bill Tyson from NAI Wisinski of West Michigan.
The restaurant is being constructed, and it’s expected to be completed in November.
West Michigan locations
There is a Popeyes in Grand Rapids, at 1954 Division Ave. S, according to the Popeyes website. There are also several other Popeyes locations across the region: Muskegon, St. Joseph and Battle Creek.
The franchise’s restaurants feature mostly Southern fried chicken, but they also venture into seafood, such as fried shrimp and Cajun fish.
The side-dish menu features Cajun fries, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, red beans and rice, jambalaya and more.
The chain was started in 1972 by Alvin Copeland in the New Orleans suburb of Arabi.
Atlanta-based Popeyes now serves more than 2,400 locations across the world.
