Downtown hotel opens Wolfgang Puck restaurants
A downtown hotel has opened the doors to a pair of Wolfgang Puck restaurant franchises.
The Kitchen and The Kitchen Counter by Wolfgang Puck are now open in the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids.
The Kitchen is a casual sit-down restaurant featuring Puck’s signature comfort food and is described as “made-from-scratch comfort fare meets authentic global classics.”
The restaurant said its lunch and dinner menu items are developed using locally sourced ingredients and “innovative techniques.”
Highlights from the seasonally driven menu include tempura shrimp with spicy kimchee and chili aioli, steamed salmon “Hong Kong style” with bok choy, carrots, mushrooms and jasmine rice and a selection of signature pizzas and house-made pastas.
The Kitchen also features a patio overlooking the Grand River.
Private dining and event spaces are available, which can accommodate up to 70 guests. Event producers can choose from an enclosed wine cellar on the lower level, the patio and lawn and flexible configurations in the main dining room.
The Kitchen is open for lunch and dinner Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 11-1 a.m.
The Kitchen Counter
For those on the go, The Kitchen Counter will provide quick-service breakfast and lunch options, including omelets, bakery items, soups, salads, sandwiches and baked desserts, such as cookies and brownies.
The menu is focused on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
For instance, the mushroom-and-spinach omelet is made with goat cheese and whole-grain toast, while a seasonal salad such as the WP chopped salad includes market vegetables, quinoa and champagne vinaigrette.
The atmosphere of the space is described as casual.
The Kitchen Counter is open for breakfast and lunch daily from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
