Downtown hotel names GM
A downtown hotel announced today that it has hired a new general manager.
Brian Behler has been promoted to the GM position at JW Marriott Grand Rapids.
In his new role, Behler will oversee all operations at the hotel, with a focus on leading his team to achieve "strong performance goals and surpass revenue projections."
His goals include creating more opportunities for education, training and leadership.
Behler has been with JW Marriott Grand Rapids since it opened in 2007. His first position with the hotel was as director of rooms.
In 2013, he was promoted to assistant general manager.
During his tenure, the hotel said Behler has been a "pivotal leader," focusing on "perfecting the guest experience."
The efforts of Behler and the hotel were recognized in 2014 when the property earned the No. 1 guest rating among all JW Marriott hotels in North America.
Behler began his career 20 years ago as an intern with the Marriott brand in Marco Island, Fla.
