Nonprofit opens next thrift shop
A nonprofit has added to its network of thrift shops in the region.
Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids said yesterday that it will open its Belding store this month.
The roughly 11,200-square-foot space store, which was formerly a thrift shop by Grand Rapids-based Mel Trotter Ministries, is located at 363 E. State St.
Goodwill, Mel Trotter and the Belding Chamber of Commerce will come together for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site on Oct. 10 at 9 a.m.
“We believe the community will be thrilled to have access to Goodwill’s gently used wares, clothing, etc.,” said Jill Wallace, chief marketing and communications officer, Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids.
“In addition, revenue and donations from this store provide job training and placement services for our Greenville workforce development office, just north of Belding.”
