Furniture dealer names president
A man with sales and marketing experience in the office furniture and health care industries is the new president at a local furniture dealer.
Kentwood Office Furniture in Grand Rapids said this week that it has named Robert "Bob" Von Kaenel Jr. to the role, succeeding Art Hasse. Hasse will remain the company’s CEO.
Prior to Von Kaenel’s hiring, the board of directors of the employee-owned company went through a selection process. Kentwood Office Furniture has been employee owned since 2013.
“I am extremely honored to join the Kentwood team, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this exceptional organization of dedicated, talented professionals,” Von Kaenel said. “I’m excited to meet our employee-owners, our customers and our valued suppliers over the coming months to collaborate on our promising future together.”
Most recently, Von Kaenel was SVP of health care sales and development at Herman Miller.
Previously, Von Kaenel served as VP of marketing for Sunrise Medical and an executive with Getinge USA, a subsidiary of the $2.5 billion, Sweden-based health care and life sciences company Getinge Group.
Von Kaenel holds a B.A. from Duquesne University.
