Brewery releases next experimental beer
A brewery has announced its latest special release.
Founders Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids said last week that Project PAM, a black IPA, will be the 14th beer in its limited-edition Backstage Series.
Project PAM will be released on Nov. 20.
“Black IPAs have long been a staple in our taproom and at our annual Black Party — a celebration of experimental, dark beers — and Project PAM combines this with our deep, abiding love for barrel aging,” Founders said. “It’s an invitation to venture into the shadows of our brewers’ minds and discover their mad genius.”
Project PAM has 10.8 percent ABV and is aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels and brewed with a variety of hops, including Chinook, Nugget, Centennial, Amarillo, El Dorado and Mosaic.
The beer will be available in 750 ml bottles across Founders’ distribution footprint at a suggested retail price of $14.99 a bottle.
The Backstage Series was started in 2011 to help showcase Founders' experimental beers to a wider audience.
The series includes Canadian Breakfast Stout, Frangelic Mountain Brown and Bolt Cutter, among others.
