An in-home fitness firm based in the region is expanding into Grand Rapids.

Kalamazoo-based Genesis Fitness & Wellness is entering the Grand Rapids market and will be ready for New Year’s resolution clients, beginning Jan. 4.

The firm was started by co-founders Elisa Dely and Rob Kennedy in 2013, as people were looking for customized fitness programs that fit their hectic lifestyles.

The programs are created by certified personal trainers for specific fitness and health goals, achievable in clients’ homes.

Services provided by Genesis Fitness & Wellness include personal, corporate and group training, nutrition assessment and support and massage therapy.

“Response to our unique programs that offer personalized training has been overwhelming,” Dely said.

Dely and Kennedy have more than 30 combined years of nutrition and fitness training experience.

“Many people, especially those who are older, are looking for more than a gym,” Kennedy said.
