Golf club tees up remodel
A golf club and its restaurant are getting a remodel.
Watermark Properties said today that Thousand Oaks Golf Club in Grand Rapids, at 4100 Thousand Oaks Dr. NE, will begin a remodel and expansion project on Jan. 1.
The expansion will be revealed in the spring and include a restaurant with a new name, interior design, outdoor space and food concept.
The club’s restaurant, currently called the Acorn Grille, will be closed during the renovation.
Following the renovation, which includes a larger bar area, the restaurant’s capacity will increase to 157 seats from 121.
Also included in the renovation project will be a new pro shop, locker rooms and improvements to the facility’s technology.
Thousand Oak’s banquet facility will remain open during the remodel, as will the pro shop and golf academy.
“These improvements will provide members with more opportunities to receive greater value from their membership,” Watermark Properties COO Craig Smith said.
Thousand Oaks will also change to a fully private golf club on Jan. 1, but the restaurant will remain public, as are the rest of the Watermark Properties restaurants, under the RedWater Restaurant Group family.
Watermark Properties also includes Watermark Country Club, Stonewater Country Club and Sunnybrook Country Club. Members at the clubs can play any of the four courses.
RedWater Restaurant Group includes Cork Wine and Grille, Vintage Prime and Seafood, Rush Creek Bistro, FireRock Grille, Reds on the River, Gravity Taphouse & Grill and the Acorn Grille.
Watermark and Thousand Oaks announced the merger of the two companies in August and integrated operations in October.
