Downtown ball drop rings in the New Year
One of the biggest parties to ring in the New Year in Grand Rapids has relocated this year.
The eighth annual HOT New Year’s Eve Party, which includes a midnight ball drop, will be held at the corner of Grandville Avenue and Cherry Street SW.
The celebration kicks off at 7 p.m. and will go until midnight.
Attendees can enjoy performances by GR’s Big Talent winner Ja’Leeyna Dooley, American singer-songwriter Kevin Rudolph, electronica and rock band Five Knives, pop duo Tryon, and Chad Wolf from the band Carolina Liar.
More information about the performers can be found here.
Warming tent and beer
Planet Fitness and Custer are making sure people stay warm this year with a warming tent, where hot chocolate and coffee will be served throughout the night.
There also will be a Coors Light beer tent for anyone 21 and older.
The Hot New Year’s Eve Party is being hosted by radio station 105.3 Hot FM and Subway.
