Georgia company acquires construction supplier

A construction supplier with multiple locations in the region has been acquired by a Georgia company.

Tucker, Georgia-based Gypsum Management & Supply announced yesterday its entrance into the Michigan and northwest Ohio markets with the acquisition of Gypsum Supply Company.

Gypsum Supply Company supplies the Michigan and Toledo, Ohio markets with a range of products including drywall, ceilings, steel and insulation.

The company has locations in Grand Rapids, Zeeland, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Traverse City, Ann Arbor, Troy and Toledo.

Founded in 1971, Gypsum Management & Supply operates more than 175 distribution sites across the country.

“We plan to leverage the long-term relationships and reputation that Gypsum Supply Company has built to enhance our presence in this strategic market,” Gypsum Management & Supply President and CEO Mike Callahan said. “We believe that the company and its employees are a natural partner for our growing company, as their culture and dedication to excellence mirrors our own mission.”

Gypsum Management & Supply Midwest Regional Manager Mike Brown added that the addition of Gypsum Supply Company “further strengthens our attractive Midwest footprint, while also providing an opportunity to build our leadership position in Michigan.”
