Grocery store chain schedules opening
A grocer has marked when it plans to open its first store in the region.
Fresh Thyme says on its Facebook page it will open its Grand Rapids location, at 2470 Burton St. SE, at 7 a.m. on Feb. 24.
The store offers a wide array of foods and beverages and features a number of sections, such as deli & cheese, butcher shop, bakery, dairy, fish market and frozen foods.
Fresh Thyme says it provides “natural meat raised without hormones, seafood flown in daily, barrels full of natural and organic bulk foods, earth-friendly cleaning supplies and gluten- and dairy-free options,” among other groceries, according to its website.
Fresh Thyme is the anchor of a CWD Real Estate Investment project on the site of the former Michigan Athletic Club. The store is located in a 29,000-square-foot building in what will be an 85,000-square-foot development once finished.
“The addition of Fresh Thyme Farmers Market continues our goal to enhance the livability of our near neighborhoods, as well as the urban core,” CWD managing partner Scott Wierda said when the Fresh Thyme location was announced in 2014.
“We are excited to introduce another popular lifestyle brand.”
