A new hotel could be going up near a mall in the area.

A Public Hearing Notice has been released by the Grandville Planning Commission for 7 p.m. on March 2, regarding a proposed hotel near RiverTown Crossings in the city.

The proposed development would be a four story, 100 room limited-service hotel, at 4274 44th St. SW.

The applicant is listed as Grandville Hospitality Inc., which is held by Akram Namou, who owns Southfield-based A&M Hospitality. Namou declined to comment for this article prior to the hearing.

A&M Hospitality also owns several Grand Rapids-area hotels, including two Baymont Inn & Suites, Best Western, Clarion Inn & Suites Airport, Country Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites and Staybridge Suites.
