Grief nonprofit names managing director
A family focused nonprofit has a new West Michigan executive.
Nicole Rodammer is now the managing director for Ele’s Place Grand Rapids, an organization dedicating to raising awareness and providing support for grieving children and their families.
In her new role, Rodammer will manage the day-to-day operations of Ele’s Place Grand Rapids as well as oversee community engagement and fundraising. She also will coordinate the organization’s two main events, the Healing Heart Society Breakfast on April 19 and the Fall Reception.
“I am excited for the opportunity that Ele’s Place brings to the community with peer support and programming,” Rodammer said. “As the demand increases for our programming, we continue to grow, adding another night of programming (Monday and Thursday) and services within schools. It is our vision that every child and family has access to compassionate care, and no one feels as though they grieve alone.”
Most recently, Rodammer was the director of development at Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth for nearly two and a half years. At Boys & Girls Clubs, she managed the volunteer database, created and implemented long- and short-term strategies and goals for the organization, was responsible for event leadership and led public relations and media opportunities, among other responsibilities.
She worked as a community relations/marketing coordinator for the Grand Rapids Griffins for nearly four years before joining Michigan Blood as a marrow and stem cell donor recruiter. Rodammer served as director of marketing for Health Care Management LLC and as the marketing director for Kraft Business Systems Inc. prior to her employment at Boys & Girls Club.
Rodammer graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising.
Community involvement and awards
Rodammer currently serves on several boards for area organizations, including the chair of the Grand Rapids Young Professionals Advisory Board, a board member of the Family Outreach Center and as a committee member of Griffins Youth Foundation Golf Classic.
Previously Rodammer was on the scholarship committee for Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce’s ATHENA program and a committee member of the GVSU Young Alumni Council. She also was president of Grand Rapids Young Professionals for three years.
Rodammer was awarded as one of the Grand Rapids Business Journal’s 40 under Forty winners, in 2013 and 2014. In 2014 she received a “Rising Star” award from the Young Nonprofit Professional Network of Grand Rapids.
Founded in Lansing in 1991, Ele’s Place provides a support system and raises awareness for grieving children and their families dealing with the loss of a loved one.
