Downtown restaurant and bar opens hiring
A restaurant and bar being built in the heart of downtown is hiring.
As Wheelhouse Kitchen & Cocktails prepares to open this spring as part of the Arena Place development in Grand Rapids, it has begun to accept walk-in applications for positions.
Meritage Hospitality Group, Wheelhouse’s parent company, expects Wheelhouse to bring "200-plus jobs to local Michiganders," according to Lindsay Stone, a spokesperson for the group, when the Wheelhouse concept was announced in 2014.
Wheelhouse is hiring full- and part-time employees, and walk-in applications are being accepted at the Orion Construction office, at 32 Market Ave. SW.
Applications will be accepted to Monday through Friday to April 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A resume and cover letter are suggested.
Among the jobs posted online are dining room manager, server and cook.
Wheelhouse is a “new American bistro,” featuring seasonal recipes and artisan cocktails inspired by the chef’s “ongoing partnership with local suppliers.”
The general manager of Wheelhouse is Eric Teasley and its executive chef is Andrew Alcid.
