Construction firm wins national award for ethics
A local firm has won a national subcontractor award.
Kent Companies won the Excellence in Ethics Award at the American Subcontractors Association’s SUBExcel Conference earlier this month in Miami, Florida.
The award is given to firms demonstrating the highest standards of integrity. Kent Companies was one of 13 contractors to receive the designation, based on an application process reviewing ethics, code of conduct, practices, finances, safety and health policies and community relations.
“This award recognizes the dedication of our people to putting forth their very best work every day. We strive for continuous improvement in safety, productivity, quality and customer service,” Kent Companies CEO Jeff VanderLaan said in a release. “We’re helping to change the skyline in cities like Grand Rapids, Detroit, Charlotte and Dallas. Our customers, our suppliers and our community count on us to do the right thing, and we take that commitment very seriously.”
Kent Companies is a third-generation family-owned contractor headquartered in Grand Rapids with operations in Detroit; Dallas; central Ohio; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
The firm’s expertise includes commercial and industrial construction, mixed-use construction, multi-family housing, tilt-up concrete, post-tensioned cast-in-place structures and a full range of concrete-related specialties.
