Faith-based nonprofit names director of communications
A former local reporter is the new public liaison for the Diocese of Grand Rapids.
Annalise Kransz began her new job as the director of communications for the Diocese of Grand Rapids on March 21. In her new role, Kransz will serve as the main contact between the Diocese and the community and coordinate marketing, media and public relations efforts. She also will oversee the weekly televised broadcast of Sunday mass and work as the editor-in-chief of FAITH Grand Rapids magazine.
“I look forward to expanding diocesan communications efforts, developing relationships and relaying pertinent information about the church by serving the Catholic community and working with people throughout West Michigan,” Kransz said in a press release.
Kransz has served as the marketing communications coordinator for Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids since 2014. Prior to that, she was a reporter and producer for television stations WXMI FOX 17 in Grand Rapids and WPBN in Traverse City.
“We are excited to welcome Annalise into this role,” said Bishop David J. Walkowiak. “I have been pleased with her work with our school communities. She has brought tremendous energy to our efforts to strengthen our Catholic schools.”
Kransz has a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and cinematic arts from Central Michigan University. She also is a member of Holy Spirit Parish.
