Group tees up golf course restaurant

A popular restaurant has made a successful move into a $2-million renovation at a local golf course.

RedWater Restaurant Group opened Reds at Thousand Oaks yesterday, a little more than a month after the announcement that Reds on the River in Rockford would move to the golf course in Grand Rapids, at 4100 Thousand Oaks Dr. NE.

The re-imagined restaurant includes parts of both Reds on the River and Acorn Grille — the former Thousand Oaks restaurant — on the menu.

The restaurant is open to the public.

Reds at Thousand Oaks has an open, airy and contemporary design, said RedWater COO Craig Smith.

The restaurant features a new bar, outdoor patio with two tiers of seating, fire pits, a covered deck with a view of the golf course and on-site parking.


The menu at Reds at Thousand Oaks features items such as sizzling steaks and chops, fish, seafood and pastas, as well as a new selection of pizzas.

The bar includes a 16-tap selection of beer, 160 bottles of wine and 40 glass pours and a full liquor selection.

RedWater has also added a pastry chef to its staff, Abby Metz.


RedWater Restaurant group also includes Gravity Taphouse Grille, Rush Creek Bistro, FireRock Grille, Cork Wine & Grille and Vintage Prime & Seafood.

Thousand Oaks Golf Club is part of Watermark Properties, RedWater’s parent company, which allows members access to four private courses, including Sunnybrook Country Club, Watermark Country Club and StoneWater Country Club.
