Faith-based nonprofit names VP of HR
A long-time human resources professional is the new vice president of HR at a local faith-based nonprofit.
Bethany Christian Services in Grand Rapids, which aims to protect and enhance the lives of children and families, said this month that it has promoted Nathalie Davis, formerly senior director of HR, to the role.
Davis will work more with the senior executive team to continue to drive HR strategies and provide guidance for legal issues.
Her focus will be on executive development, strategic workforce planning and diversity and inclusion.
Bill Blacquiere, president and CEO at Bethany, said Davis has already played in “integral” role at the nonprofit and her “guidance and direction” have been “key to the organization carrying out our strategic priorities.”
Davis said it's her "true desire" to provide the nonprofit's employees with "an outstanding employment experience from the day they apply for a job to the time they transition to new opportunities, so they can look back and say, ‘I played an important role in serving families well while at Bethany.'"
"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to contribute to Bethany’s vision of a world where every child has a loving family,” Davis said.
Davis joined Bethany as senior director of HR in 2013.
Concurrent to her work at Bethany, she is also the owner of the Workforce Restoration Institute.
Previously, Davis briefly worked as an HR director for Community Action, following a 25-year career working in HR at Kellogg Company, where she worked her way up to senior director of HR.
Davis has served on the HR committee for her church, The Bridge in Portage, and is on the advisory board for Justice for Our Neighbors of West Michigan.
She holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana, a certificate of paralegal studies from Roosevelt University, an M.B.A. from the Keller Graduate School of Management and is a Ph.D. candidate in business psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Bethany Christian Services offers a range of services: family preservation; family counseling; foster care; infant and foster care adoption; post-adoption services; youth services; refugee and immigrant services; and pregnancy support.
