A local senior living community is expanding the independent living options at its campus.

Holland Home said last week that it will expand Breton Woods in Kentwood by creating Breton Homes North.

The new development will feature 119 homes on 60 acres on the northern portion of the Breton Woods campus, at 2772 Pfeiffer Woods Dr. SE.

Construction on the project is underway.

The 47-home first phase is expected to be completed in the fall, and the 72-home second phase will begin once the first phase is complete.

Breton Homes North residents will have access to all Breton Woods amenities, including fitness center, indoor pool, restaurants, art studio and life-enrichment programs.

The independent living residences at Breton Homes North will include stand-alone, duplex and triplex homes.

The homes will be in the low $300,000 range.

Each floor plan will use smart-home technology and range from 2,200 to 2,600 square feet.

The floor plans will feature a “gourmet kitchen,” large open spaces, three bathrooms, finished basement, covered front porch and rear deck and a two-stall garage. An optional three- or four-season porch is also available.

The master suite includes a walk-in closet and a bathroom.
