Urgent care company opens next location
A national urgent care company is opening another center in the region.
MedExpress, an Optum company, will open its Holland center, at 91 Douglas Ave., to patients tomorrow.
As a welcoming gift to the community, the center said it will offer free sports, camp and school physicals for patients five and older, between May 25 and June 8.
A full medical team is on site 12 hours a day, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week, with no appointment needed.
MedExpress said patients can expect to receive timely care — with most patients in and out of the center in under an hour.
MedExpress works to coordinate care with other area health care providers to ensure patients receive the necessary follow-up care.
The center provides a broad scope of urgent care, employer health and basic wellness and prevention services: on-site x-rays; IVs and labs; flu shots, tobacco cessation counseling, immunizations and physicals; treatment for colds, flu and infections; minor surgery; treatment for broken bones, sprains, strains and cuts needing stitches; workers’ compensation and screenings.
MedExpress operates administrative offices in Morgantown, West Virginia and Pittsburgh.
Private practices operate urgent and walk-in care centers under the name MedExpress, while Urgent Care MSO, a management services company, provides management services on behalf of the practices.
